EDITORIAL BOARD PROFILE
A picture of Prabu David
Prabu David is associate professor in the School of Communication at Ohio State University. After finishing his doctoral studies in mass communication at the University of North Carolina, he joined the faculty at OSU. He has an undergraduate degree in physics from Loyola College in Chennai, India, and a master's in journalism from Ohio University. Before his academic career, he worked as a market researcher and had the opportunity to work on various advertising and market research projects for Fortune 500 clients.

His current projects focus on the use of information technology for public health outcomes, mainly in body image, weight loss, physical activity, and cancer treatment and prevention. He is co-investigator on a number of health intervention projects, including studies funded by the CDC, NCI and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

His core research interest is in cognitive approaches to study of communication technologies. Increasingly, he uses ecological momentary assessments to collect data in real time via the Internet and through mobile technologies, such as the cell phone and the PDA. He is also interested in message design issues involving both form and content. He has published in Journal of Communication, Human Communication Research, Communication Research and other outlets. He is on the editorial board of Communication Research, Visual Communication Quarterly, and Journal of Interactive Advertising. He teaches courses on communication technology and social marketing.
