EDITORIAL BOARD PROFILE![]() Craig Denton was born in Salt Lake City, and except for periods when he was in college, doing post-graduate work or in the armed forces, he has lived his entire life in Utah, a state that has provided him venues for his exploration of visual communication. Before he began teaching, he spent several years working in the media as a photographer, editor, designer and freelance writer. Craig still likes to keep his hands dirty, so he followed the path of creative scholarship in his academic career. He's especially interested in the integration of the visual and verbal, and has pursued that grail in his photographic documentaries and exhibits. Currently, he is the Program Coordinator of the Documentary Studies initiative, an interdisciplinary program composed of faculty across the campus - Humanities, Fine Arts, Architecture, Social Sciences, Sciences and Medicine - and independent documentarians. Last but not least, he is married to Meg Denton, a master teacher, and they have two wonderful step-children, Stacie and Gavin. Together, they have given Meg and Craig six grandchildren, and being a grandparent is all that it's cracked up to be - and then some. |
